UNICO National - Portland Chapter

UNICO National-Portland, is the newest Italian organization in Portland! The name, UNICO, translated from Italian, means "one" or "only one of its kind". Additionally, the letters are interpreted as U-Unity, N-Neighborliness, I-Integrity, C-Charity, O-Opportunity. UNICO gives Portland a national presence and is the first chapter in the Northwest. UNICO National is the largest Italian-American service organization in the United States. With money from fund raising activities, UNICO grants college scholarships, establishes Italian Study Chairs in colleges and universities, raises millions of dollars for local charities and funds research grants for a variety of diseases.

The objective of UNICO-Portland is to plan and develop fund raising activities to give to local charities in the Portland area while enjoying Italian cultural activities together and having fun at the same time. Those who are not of Italian descent, but simply have a passion for Italian culture, are eligible to become members as well.

Please join us at one of our monthly meetings during this exciting time for the Portland community, as we continue to develop and expand our organization. For more information, contact Jo Ann Gallo, at JoAnn@unicopdx.com. or 503.481.1119.
