Instructor: Vito Marsico - Vito recently relocated from Italy where he taught music to kindergarten, primary and middle school students. He has a Masters in Music from the Antonio Vivaldi Conservatory.
What: Music lessons for children 3-12 years old. All levels of Italian language students are welcome whether registered or not. The lessons will teach basic concepts such as rhythm, singing, and basic musical notation. Rhythm will be taught using simple percussion instruments (shakers, claves, tambourines, triangles, maracas etc.) as seen in the Orff Method for teaching rhythm. Age appropriate Italian songs will be used to supplement the rhythmical studies while practicing intonation and reinforcing Italian vocabulary. Part of the lessons will also be dedicated to musical notation to build musical literacy. As percussion instruments will not be immediately available, the first few lessons will focus on Italian songs and musical notation.
Cost: $7 per class for registered students and $10 per class for non-registered children. Buy a five-lesson package in advance ($35 for registered students and $50 for all other children) and come when you can; Use class time when it is convenient for you! Once we receive your registration form and payment, we'll start an account for your child(ren). We will track the number of classes they attend, and we'll let you know when your account is low and requires another deposit.
