Italian course for children
The Azzurri Club of Portland, together with the Portland-Bologna Sister City Association, is trying to organize an Italian course for children starting next September. It will meet once or twice a week.
The purpose of the course for the kids that are already fluent in Italian will be to learn how to read and write, and for everybody else to simply learn the Italian language.
The Italian community's dream is to have an Italian school, and this could be the first fundamental step to get closer to our goal.
In order to evaluate the number of kids willing to participate and their level of Italian, we have prepared a questionnaire. The results will allow us to better meet the children's academic needs but will also verify the feasibility of the project itself.
Please fill out one form per family at
http://www.azzurriportland.com/
If you cannot access the Internet, print outs will be available at various locations, for example at Piazza Italia (1129 NW Johnson St) and Caffè Allora (504 NW 9th Ave) restaurants. Hard copies can be sent via mail to Portland Bologna Sister City Association, c/o Portland State University, PO Box 751 - CLAS Dean's Office, Portland OR 97207-0751. The deadline for the form to be received is April 30th, 2006.
